The
phrase “It’s a Chamber of Commerce Day”
is heard frequently throughout the Lake Arrowhead Communities.
The Lake Arrowhead Communities
are located in the mountains of Southern California. The
Lake Arrowhead Communities, part of the San Bernardino
National Forest, are just 90 miles
east of Los Angeles, and a paradise of outdoor recreation
and year-round beauty.
It’s
all about the weather! It’s
easy to read statistics regarding the weather in The Lake
Arrowhead Communities, but one can not do justice to the
fabulous weather by using a chart. Each season is very
distinct here and each day brings the beauty of Mother
Nature to the forefront of the lives of those who reside
and visit here.

Every year
begins in the Lake Arrowhead Communities crisp, clear, and often
white. While snow is a wonderful part of living here, seldom
is it an inconvenience as the major roads are kept relatively
free from snow and are open most of the time. Winter is a quiet
time in Lake Arrowhead, yet visitors do flock to the mountains
to experience the snow. When thoughts turn to skiing and snow
play, there’s no better place to visit than the Lake Arrowhead
Communities.
Spring
brings vivid color to the Lake Arrowhead Communities. As bright
daffodils and tulips usher in warmer temperatures, birds chirp,
wildlife frolics and new life explodes throughout the area.
Summer is just about
perfect ~ never too warm and never too cool. It’s
not so much the weather though; it’s the sounds that make the summer
memorable. Ski boats on the lake, the lapping of the water, children playing
and the daily light breeze rustling through the pines. Summer is the time
to make the most out of outdoor life; it’s very hard to stay indoors
from May through September.

The mountains come alive in the fall with colors of dark golds, reds,
and oranges. The trees and a variety of vegetation put on a show for those
who come to the mountains in October and November. Couple the spectacular
color with warm days and cool evenings and that adds up to a simply glorious
season.
Yes, every day is a Chamber of Commerce day within the Lake Arrowhead
Communities and it is something all who are fortunate enough to live or
visit here have the opportunity to experience and appreciate.

There is nothing quite
like the sound of wood on water…
Southern
Californians have the opportunity to see some of the most rare
and beautiful antique and classic wooden boats still in existence
on Lake Arrowhead at the Annual Antique and Classic Wooden Boat
Show which takes place the first weekend in June at Lake Arrowhead
Village.

The show
features over 40 wooden boats, moored on the water at Lake Arrowhead,
on two separate docks. Each year’s collection represents
various classic boat manufacturers of days gone by including
Chris Craft, Century, Gar Wood, Thompson, and a few other lesser
known but equally impressive companies.
The Lake
Arrowhead Antique and Classic Wooden Boat Show is the premier
wooden boat show in Southern California and the only one in
the area that is judged. This is the first event of the summer
season in the Lake Arrowhead Communities and one of the biggest
of the year.
Another
very special event is the annual Home
Tour, this year in its 36th year. The Lake Arrowhead Communities
are full of spectacular homes and the only way to view some
of the most impressive residences in the area is to participate
in the annual Home Tour. For 35 years, a wide variety of homes
have been featured – from lakefront mansions to historic
cabins, the annual Home Tour shows off the best of the Lake
Arrowhead communities.
The Lake
Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce will be presenting
their 36th annual Home Tour on Saturday, September 18, 2010
from 9am – 5pm.
The tour showcases
4 stunning homes, one available only via boat shuttle, along
with a wine and cheese reception at the private Burnt Mill Beach
Club and a souvenir wine glass. Only 1500 tickets are sold for
the event.
